Subject: Kate Brannigan and Kinsey Millhone
Hi Val, Having been brought up in Manchester, though now living away from the city, I really enjoy Kate Brannigan, and am keeping my fingers crossed for another book. Another favourite is Sue Grafton's Kinsey Millhone. I can visualise Kate and Kinsey working together on a case - or are they so similar in character that the sparks would fly?

Is Star Struck the last Kate Brannigan novel?

Star Struck is definitely the most recent Brannigan novel. And unless Val decides to do another, then yes it will sadly be the last.

We might be in luck: 7/7/04 Subject: Re: Kate Brannigan Gosh, nothing gets past you guys, does it? Well, Frick, a few weeks ago I would have said that the chances of another Brannigan were receding. But circumstances change and it would be fair to say that there are now quite pressing reasons why another Brannigan seems like a very good idea. Can't really say more than that right now, but I am seriously thinking of doing one next year. Sorry to be so vague, but I do hate to be pinned down more than one book ahead... Best Val

This was really an amusing idea - kinsey and kate working together! I can hear them talking vividly in kinsey`s tiny place and kate sleeping over on the couch... And then they stubbornly go in different directions, but unite at the end and work smoothly together through the dramatics at the end. Too bad it can`t be done!

Better let Sue and Val work it out! But alas, I guess they never will - not even just for fun... But if they were in the same space for a bit, maybe they would? Val, ever thought of spending the autumn in lovely Santa Barbara?

Reading 'R is for Ricochet' just now - don't know how Sue Grafton does it, but these books seem to be as enjoyable as ever, if not more so. Couple of years since the last one, and the pace and storyline are as strong as ever!

You think so? I wasn`t that thrilled with this one. Reba was interesting but you didn`t get to know her, and Kinsey was shockingly passive, in my view. She just tugged along.

I have to agree with puzzled - I thought R was rather lacklustre. Then, I am just not ever interested in financial shenanningins (give me a crime I can care about), and never will be. Reba was interesting, and there were some good developments in the lives of all the stock characters (Henry etc), but overall I found R a bit dull. By the end, I was very happy to be able to pass onto something else.

I am an absolute fan of the Kate Brannigan books. As You said there might be a book next year ( 2005) my question is if there is still the possibility of another Kate brannigan book. Martin
