Aye Write!, Glasgow’s Book Festival, will be back for its eighth outing from 12 - 20 April 2013.

As ever, the programme will celebrate Scottish and international writers, and explore a diverse range of themes, filling Glasgow’s iconic Mitchell Library with a variety of exciting events for adults and families alike over ten packed days.

Val will be in conversation with Jim Leishman to support opening of new Kirkcaldy library, followed by book signing.

Kirkcaldy Central Library’s temporary premises at 180-182 High Street, Kirkcaldy will close at 4.00 pm on Sunday 28th April and will re-open on Saturday 8th June at 9.30 am. 

Services at Sinclairtown Library are on a smaller scale but  include a book lending service for adults and children, as well as public access PCs with free internet.  See the Opening Hours section below for details of when the High Street premises is open..

Kirkcaldy’s Local & Family History resources will no longer operate from Sinclairtown Library from Monday 29th April. It is moving to its new home on the upper floor of the newly refurbished Kirkcaldy Galleries in Abbotshall Road and will be available from Saturday 8th June.  Until the 29th April, the most popular resources are freely available, however please call before travelling as some resources including maps and some local history books are in storage and may not be immediately available.

The purpose of this week is to accelerate your development as a crime writer and focus on your work in progress. We will explore some of the techniques used by crime novelists (many of which apply to other forms of fiction). We will also investigate the variety of subgenres and some of the commercial considerations relating to writing and selling crime.
